They strike a blow against fast fashion and strike a pose as they aim to claim one of only ten spots available to represent Ireland at the Junk Kouture World Final - the competition is fierce.
Expect stunning stage moments, exclusive backstage chats, standout performances, and commentary from presenters India Sasha and Fionnuala Moran. Judging the designs are fashion and sustainability experts Mariusz Malon, Claire Garvey, and Zeda.
The 60 talented young designers, aged 12–19 and representing schools from across Ireland, showcase breathtaking haute couture - each piece crafted entirely from recycled materials.
Junk Kouture is where fashion meets innovation - and the next generation leads the way. See how they trurn everything from old tents and discarded footballs to high-vis jackets, plastic medical forceps, and scrap metal into extraordinary haute couture.
More than just fashion, these designs were inspired by powerful global issues, with students drawing attention to issues such as biodiversity protection, mental health and wellbeing, and responsible consumption and production, all tied to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Junk Kouture continues to provide a platform for youth to creatively amplify their voices and become changemakers in their communities.
