A man in his 20s has died in a hit-and-run incident in Co Dublin.
The pedestrian was struck by a car on Railway Street in Balbriggan, at around 9pm last night.
He received emergency treatment at the scene, but was pronounced dead a short time later.
The driver of the car failed to remain at the scene.
Gardaí said that a short time later they responded to two public order incidents in the same area.
Describing both as reactionary, they said they were contained and there was no threat to public safety.
Investigations are ongoing and no arrests have been made so far in relation to any of the incidents.
Railway Street has been closed for a technical examination and local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses, particularly anyone with video footage (including dash cam) from the area at the time, to contact Balbriggan Garda Station on 01 666 4500, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
