Legendary DJ, club impresario, historian, activist and master storyteller Tonie Walsh welcomes you to this year's Pride celebrations...
Pride is many things to different people, but it is surely a time to wonder at the distance we've travelled and give thanks for where we are now, reminding ourselves to never take it for granted.
Just got handed @dublinbusnews #lgbtPride badge by Christy, driver of Nr. 46a, who tells me his son has gone to NYC for Pride celebrations. I "I'll put it in the Irish Queer Archive," I say, noting his beaming face. My morning has got even more sunnier.

It is a time to wave goodbye to so many beautiful people we've lost to homophobic and transphobic violence and the devastation of AIDS. Amidst all the partying and celebration, it's also a reminder of the unfinished business of building a new republic.
More than anything, Pride is a time to share our diversity, our stupendous queer love and our way of looking at the world with the rest of Dublin city and this little damp rock called Ireland.
Isn’t it about time that Dublin has a major Midsummer Festival with a big Queer Heart!
