Pea Dinneen and Aoife O'Connor give a cracking account of their latest all-inclusive live show, Egg: The Proclamation of The Irish Republegg, coming to the Dublin Fringe Festival this September.
Part dazzling DIY cabaret, part musical political rally for a new Egg-shaped Irish Republic, expect a glittering line-up of movers, shakers and makers offering liberation through song, dance, comedy, drag and more...
Egg is Dublin’s spiciest DIY queer cabaret collective. We’ve been fizzing away for over a year now, establishing a cult following with regular sold-out shows.
The creation of two emerging Irish artists, Pea Dinneen and Aoife O’Connor, and featuring Ireland’s most glittering and gayest stars, Egg is a cabaret show made by queer people for queer people. It's about queering the Irish establishment through playful and subversive interdisciplinary performance, while providing a raucous and wild evening of entertainment for all the girls, gays and theys of our island.

Egg is joyful. Egg is inclusive. Egg is an invitation to let loose, have a laugh and tap into something wonderful, queer and a little bit feral.
This all leads us to Egg: The Proclamation of The Irish Republegg, our agenda reveal party, for one night only, September 16th, at The National Stadium in Dublin. Our biggest show yet, and the culmination of everything Egg has been building toward. This Egg has reached a boiling point, and a mighty hoopla will ooze forth from its gay AF yolk. This is an opportunity to put forth unto all the darlings of queer Ireland our model for a new wave of Irish queer liberation for all. This cabaret show will be part musical political rally, part queer community disco and ALL big, gay, sparkling extravaganza!

Our dazzling line up of Republeggans will surely blow your mind, whatever your orientation. The chaotic comedy stylings of GoblinsGoblinsGoblins will leave you howling like you’ve never howled before. The sultry teasings of Irish burlesque legend Bella Agogo will have your hands sore from applause. The glorious tones of Ireland’s most glamorous singer-songwriter Tadhg will have you gagging and bawling in equal measure.

What about something a little more, how you say, modern? Straight from the squats of Berlin we have a visit from Europe’s chicest electro act, LöL. The luscious lyricism of Dafe Orugbo will get toes tapping and hearts pounding. And what’s that? You want crafty, camp, side-splitting comic originality? Well we’ve got the dirt bird herself, Sarah Devereux! All scored by the elegant musicianship of our house pianist Mr Paul 'Piano' Prior.

But the party doesn’t stop there! Every person of the Republegg helps to make this Egg yolk golden, including our beautiful audience. So as part of the show we’ll be hosting a very special Fringe edition of our now-famous Good Egg Pageant. Everyone present will be invited to turn their most ravishing Republeggan looks for a chance to be crowned Good Egg. Come along wearing your fiercest gay garb, your Sunday best, your bedazzled Aran jumper- whatever makes you feel like part of our big camp bonanza!
Then be sure to stick around after the show, because our resident DJ Omelette-You-Finish will be spinning the eggiest bops into the wee hours as the night transforms itself into the queer republican disco you always dreamed of.
In the name of cabaret, Ireland through Egg summons her queerest children to her flag to slay for her freedom!
