A man crawls out of a cave in south county Sligo on all fours, looking like 'he's after a night of the horrors’.
A second man appears, managing ‘to stand up on his two feet’.
These are the brothers McRae, Bopper and Archie, as imagined by the writer Kevin Barry, and soon to grace the stage of the Abbey Theatre in Kevin’s new play, The Cave.
Aaron Monaghan is Bopper, Tommy Tiernan is Archie, and Judith Roddy is Helen, the Garda Sergeant who has to deal with them.
Kevin Barry and Aaron Monaghan joined Sean in studio for RTÉ Arena - listen above.
The Cave is at The Abbey Theatre, Dublin from June 6th – July 18th, and the Town Hall Theatre, Galway from 22 – 26 July - find out more here.
