Pat's in Limerick rehearsing a new play by Mike Finn called Wreckquiem where he plays the music-mad owner of a local record shop, Dessie’s Discs.
It would seem the part is tailor-made for Shortt; one of the many strings to his bow is as musician and a maker of music documentaries, such as the RTÉ series Songs of Ireland (with Mike Hanrahan of Stocktons’ Wing) and Entertainment from D’Telly.
Wreckquiem is at the Lime Tree Theatre, Limerick from June 25 to July 5. Listen to more from RTÉ Arena here.
