The Emerging Director Awards (EDA) celebrated its 10th anniversary with the announcement of the 2025 winners and runners-up across multiple categories.
The awards, which highlight up-and-coming filmmaking talent, have grown into a full-day event featuring screenings, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.
This year's judging panel included past winner Emma Foly, now also a Young Director Award recipient in Cannes. Foly praised the new generation of Irish filmmakers, saying their work made her "excited for the future of Irish storytelling."
Key winners at EDA 2025 included:
Student Film: Tommy My Neighbour by Zeljka Zupanic
Music Video: Our Own Way by Douglas Reddan & Rob de Boer
Short Film: We Beg To Differ by Ruairi Bradley
Commercial: Take Flight Merch Campaign by Douglas Reddan & Leah Moore
Spec Commercial: Mi Wadi Madness by Eoghan Hand

Neil Rooney of ICAD commented, "With the support of industry partners like Screen Ireland, we were able to expand the programme this year and introduce new learning and networking elements.
