Scott Evans from Dublin has become the first Irish male badminton player to qualify for the Olympic Games.
It was confirmed on Tuesday that the Irish number one has achieved qualification for Beijing because of his world ranking of 43.
Evans' build-up for the Beijing Olympics potentially includes both the Singapore and Indonesian Super Series events in June, but he has yet to confirm whether to travel to Asia for these events.
But he has confirmed that he will compete in the US Open in July.
