Review: Formentor stands out in SUV crowd with serious styling & added dynamics but its pricey

While most hybrid SUVs find themselves in a design rut, the Formentor has lots of sharp angles and a wide, aggressive stance. Inside, you don't benefit from as much space in the back as rivals, and the boot is a little smaller, but with the seats down, it's perfectly capable of handling the weekend DIY supply run.

The hybrid battery showed at most 85 km, which isn't as much as the Cupra Leon hatchbacks' 120 kms (the perfect balance of hybrid range in our eyes). It's more fun to drive than most of the competition, however, you won't confuse this 1.5 litre hybrid with the 335 hp version when it comes to more adventurous routes.
