The Republic of Ireland missed out on a place in the semi-finals of the World Cup of Darts after losing out to Northern Ireland in Frankfurt on Sunday.

William O'Connor and Keane Barry came up short against the northern duo of Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney on an 8-5 scoreline.

It's Germany or Australia next for the North, who were fourth seeds coming into the tournament, with Ireland as eighth seeds.

O'Connor and Barry earlier defeated Switzerland to make the last eight.
