Sarah Healy maintained her superb form of 2025 with a personal best in the women's 1500m at the Diamond League Meet in Paris, while Mark English recorded the second fastest time of his career in the men’s 800m.

The 24-year-old finished strong to take second behind Nelly Chepchirchir in a time of 3:57.15 as she moves closer to Ciara Magean’s national record of 3:55.87.

After a record-breaking indoor season, the Dubliner has carried that form into the Diamond League.

Having opened her outdoor season with third place and a PB in the women's 3000m in Rabat, Healy produced a superb final lap to win in Rome a fortnight ago in the 1500m event.

Earlier in the evening English recorded the second fastest time of his career on his way to a sixth-place finish in the men's 800m.

The French capital hosted its first major athletics event since last year's Olympic Games and English clocked his second sub 1:44 of the month.

The Finn Valley athlete, who became the first Irishman to break 1:44 in the 800m earlier this month, posted a time of 1:43.98 in a race won by Spain's Mohamed Attaoui in 1:42.73.

English has enjoyed a stellar 2025 season, lowering his Irish record twice in less than two weeks.

It follows on from a European indoor 800m bronze in March.
