He joined Leinster in 2016 after spells with the Blues and the Hurricanes in Super Rugby, where he also represented Maori All Blacks.
Having made his debut for Ireland in 2020 after qualifying via residency, the New Zealander established himself as first-choice scrum-half for Leo Cullen and Andy Farrell.
The 33-year-old has made over 150 appearances for the province and has won 43 international caps.
