Dogs chase cats! Cats and dogs don't get on. They can never be BFFs, or that's what we are told. Well, forget everything you think you know because it's time to meet Flix - the only dog living in Cat Town!
It could be ruff for him, but he has his two best friends Tabi and Munchkin to back him up.
Flix is streaming now on RTÉ Player here!
Flix
Flix is a witty 8-year-old pup (48 in pug years!). He's a lively mix of energy and personality qualities. Inquisitive. Mischievous. Melodramatic. Friendly. Warm. Witty. Non-judgemental. Sweet. Innocent. Endearing. Optimistic. Charming. Goofy. Wise. Naïve. Loveable. Impulsive. Self-contained/independent. Comrade. Leader. Vulnerable. Spontaneous. Adventurous. Silly but not stupid. Entertainer. Phew! He's got it all.
He can speak at 90 miles per hour at times, especially when he's over-excited, or wants to distract you from something! But he’s not 100% madcap all the time. He’s just got a lively and optimistic swagger, and TONS of charm.
While most cats have no beef with Flix (a dog born to a cat family!), Deputy Headmaster Mr Ratski thinks Flix is a black mark on the good reputation of the school. And classmate Burma Fang finds Flix’s is super annoying, and is always ready to tell on him.
Flix sees right through them and shrugs it all off. He’s happy in his own wrinkly, puggy skin!
Tabi
Tabi has the same vibe as Flix, mischievous and up for fun, but she’s a bit quieter and more considered than her impulsive dog best friend. She’s intelligent and direct, and not shy about speaking her mind or asking you a question.
But never to be mean or make you feel uncomfortable. She just has a practical way of looking at things, and so is useful when checking (and pointing out the flaws) to whatever plan Flix has just come up with.
She won’t try to put a dampener on things, she’ll have her own ideas and positive suggestions, so it’s all upbeat and constructive.
Still, Tabi is tinged with a dry (not weary) wit! She has an inventor’s curiosity - she loves taking things apart to see how they work.
Bright, friendly, witty, intelligent; she still has a lot to learn, and she can’t wait to learn it.
Munchkin
Munchkin is so laid back, he’s practically horizontal. But this cat is far from lazy. He’s just relaxed and calm, no situation ever gets him into a cat flap.
And he’ll impress you with his vast knowledge of just about everything. He absorbs news, science and trivia, so he always has a fur ball fact to regurgitate.
This makes Munchkin exceptionally useful at times but it can also be frustrating, as not all his facts will be applicable to the task at hand. Neither outcome has much bearing on Munchkin’s mood, he’s as calm and laidback as ever.
Don’t be fooled though. He might SOUND relaxed but he’s never bored, disinterested or passive. He always pays attention, has a fact or opinion to share, and loves to get involved with his friends’ hijinks.
Munchkin’s parents own the Tiger Milk Café in Cat Town, and Munchkin loves to meddle experiment with the recipes – maple wasabi kippers anyone? He likes to think he has the run of the place, although he could just as quickly curl up and take a nap. Those wasabi kippers make you kinda sleepy…

Felina Krall
Felinia is Flix's older sister. Mature, sophisticated and street smart. She has a wry sense of humour, especially regarding anything to do with Flix, but she’s never mean, cynical or dismissive.
Mr Ratski
Mr Ratski is Deputy Headmaster of Flix's school. He desperately wants to be THE Headmaster. He’s your classic authoritarian school figure, full of strict rules and regulations. And, he doesn't like or trust Flix - what's up with guy?
Burma Fang
Burma is essentially the school bully without actually being physically mean to anyone. He thinks he's smarter than everyone.
He doesn't like Flix, as he can’t bear the thought of a young pup like Flix being more popular and getting more attention than him. A dog outshining a cat?! The very idea!
Miss Hiss
Aw, lovely Miss Hiss - the kind schoolteacher. We've probably all had a teacher like Miss Hiss in our lives, so imagine your favourite one, and you’re not far off from Miss Hiss. She loves her class of cats, and Flix the dog of course!
